History of the IDC

The IDC's history can be traced back to late 1964, when a group of dedicated and enthusiastic defense attorneys presented a Defense Tactics Seminar. The association came into formal existence in March 1965 when our first President, Royce Glenn Rowe of the McKenna Storer Rowe White & Farrug firm, took office.

Since that time, the IDC has had an immense corps of dedicated volunteers who have given generously of their time and expertise to the benefit of the defense bar and the association.

To celebrate our 35th Anniversary, an in-depth history of the association was written by 1984-1985 IDC President Willis R. Tribler. To view this history in its entirety, follow this link.
